Your main colour appointment may be around 4 to 6 months apart, depending on your hair and chosen look. Toners or smaller refresh appointments may be needed sooner to keep your shade looking its best.

Roots to ends
For an all over colour refresh, Root 2 Tips brings colour through the hair. We will assess your existing colour and condition before planning your appointment.
Semi permanent colour
A colour refresh to enhance your existing shade, add depth or adjust tone without lightening your natural hair.
Your finishing tone
A toner refines your shade after lightening or refreshes an existing colour. Your stylist can help you choose a cooler, warmer or more neutral finish.

Before your colour appointment
All clients must have a patch test at least 48 hours before their hair colour appointment. You can book your patch test online or in the salon. A patch test is separate from a strand test, which helps us assess how your hair will respond.

Balayage or highlights?
Lived in colour is all about a soft blend and a natural looking grow out. We may combine balayage, foils and root melting to achieve it. Highlights add brightness and dimension through carefully placed sections. Your stylist will recommend the techniques that suit your starting colour and the result you want.
Can you colour curly hair?
Yes. We can discuss placement that works with your natural curls, alongside your hair’s condition and care routine. If you also want a specialist curly cut, contact us so we can plan the right appointments.
Can I make a big colour change?
Start with a consultation. Tell us about previous salon colour, home colour and lightening. We may recommend a strand test and a gradual plan, depending on your starting point.

How often will I need a refresh?
That depends on your service, regrowth and preferred finish. Roots, toner and balayage can need different upkeep. We will help you plan your next visit around your colour and lifestyle.
How do I care for my colour?
Ask your stylist about suitable shampoo, conditioner and treatments for your hair. Use a heat protector before heat styling and follow the product instructions. We can help keep your routine simple.
